Liaoning University 2026-2027 Chinese Government Scholarship China-Link Program Admission Guidelines
Liaoning University is a comprehensive institution with disciplines spanning Liberal Arts, History, Philosophy, Economics, Management, Law, Science, Engineering, Medicine, and Arts. It is a national "211 Project" key construction university and a participant in the national "Double First-Class" initiative, and has been selected for the Ministry of Education's foundational discipline series "101 Plan". International education at Liaoning University began in 1965, making it one of the earliest universities in China to offer programs for international students. It is a host institution for Chinese Government Scholarship students, a Model Institution for International Student Education in Liaoning Province, and an excellent HSK test center.
To deepen academic friendship and research collaboration between Chinese and international youth, and to build an international academic exchange platform, Liaoning University is now launching the recruitment for the 2026-2027 Chinese Government Scholarship China-Link Program. This program accepts both recommendations from internal university units and individual applications. Details are as follows:
I. Funding Overview
1.Eligible Applicant Categories & Targets:
General Scholar: Open to current undergraduate or master's degree students from foreign partner universities of the China Scholarship Council (see Appendix I for the list).
Senior Scholar: Open to current doctoral degree students, faculty, or staff members from foreign partner universities of the China Scholarship Council (see Appendix I for the list).
2. Duration of Funding:
1 to 12 months. The study period in China must commence no later than August 31, 2027.
3. Medium of Instruction:
English or Chinese, as specified for each program in the "Liaoning University List of Majors Accepting Applications for the Chinese Government Scholarship China-Link Program" (Appendix II).
4. Fields of Study:
All fields are eligible except for the Chinese Language major. The specific list of available majors is detailed in Appendix II.
II. Scholarship Coverage
This is a full scholarship covering:
Ø Exemption from tuition and on-campus dormitory fees
Ø Comprehensive medical insurance
Ø Monthly living allowance:
General Scholars: 3,000 CNY/month
Senior Scholars: 3,500 CNY/month
III. Eligibility Criteria
1. Non-Chinese citizens, in good physical and mental health, with good moral character.
2. Age requirements: General Scholars must be under 45; Senior Scholars must be under 50.
3. Must be a full-time enrolled student, faculty, or staff member from a foreign partner university listed in Appendix I.
4. Possess the relevant academic background and research capability.
IV. Application Documents (Required for all applicants)
1.Copy of passport information page.
2.Proof of Education/Employment: Enrolled students must submit a certificate of enrollment issued by their home university (a CSC partner institution). Faculty/Staff applicants must submit their highest degree certificate AND a certificate of employment from their home university (a CSC partner institution).
3.Academic Transcripts: Enrolled students submit transcripts from their current program. Faculty/Staff submit transcripts from their highest degree program (notarized or authenticated copies required).
4.Language proficiency certificate (Chinese or English).
5.Non-Criminal Record Certificate (within the validity period).
6.Foreigner Physical Examination Form (within the last 6 months). See template in Appendix III.
7.Study or research plan.
8.Recommendation letters (at least one, from a professor or associate professor).
9.Curriculum Vitae (CV) / Resume.
10.Other supporting documents helpful for the application (e.g., research achievements, award certificates).
V. Application Procedures (Choose ONE option)
(A) Option 1: Recommendation by Internal University Unit
1.Academic/scientific research units (Colleges, Institutes, etc.) of Liaoning University ("Internal Units") may recommend candidates from their established partner foreign institutions.
2.The recommending unit must complete the "Liaoning University 2026-2027 China-Link Program Recommendation List Form" (Appendix IV) and submit it along with the complete application documents of the nominee(s).
3.At least 3 months prior to the intended start date in China, the recommending unit must send the Recommendation List Form (both Excel version and PDF version with official seal) and the applicant's complete documents as a package to: studyinlnu@lnu.edu.cn.
(B) Option 2: Individual Application
1.Log in to the Liaoning University International Student Online Application System: https://lnu.17gz.org/member/login.do
Select the program: "Chinese Government Scholarship China-Link Program".
Select the category: Choose "General Scholar" or "Senior Scholar" according to your situation. Complete the application following the system instructions.
2.Adjustment Note: Individual applicants must agree to accept adjustments by Liaoning University regarding their major or supervisor if their preferred major has no available spots or cannot be matched.
VI. Admission Process
1.Comprehensive Assessment: All applicants (including both recommended and individual applicants) must undergo a comprehensive assessment organized by Liaoning University. This assessment primarily evaluates the applicant's attitude towards China, academic record, research capability, language proficiency, overall quality, development potential, health status, and non-criminal record.
2.Successful candidates will receive a pre-admission notice from Liaoning University.
3.Recipients of the pre-admission notice must then log in to the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System for International Students (selecting "Type B", Agency Number: 10140) to complete the scholarship application and upload all required materials.
4.Liaoning University will submit the list of approved candidates (both recommended and individual applications) to the China Scholarship Council in batches.
5.Final admission results will be determined and announced by the China Scholarship Council. Liaoning University will formally notify admitted students.
VII. Important Dates
Deadline for Internal Unit Recommendation: At least 3 months prior to the intended start date in China.
Deadline for Individual Application: November 30, 2026.
