I.Fast Facts about the University
Liaoning University, located in Shenyang, the central city of Northeast China, is a key university under the national "211 Project" and a university with world-class discipline development. Since 1965, Liaoning University has been offering international education and is one of the earliest Chinese universities to do so. As a recipient of Chinese government scholarship and International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship students, the University is a model institution for international student work in Liaoning Province, and an excellent test center for the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).
The University offers a wide range of disciplines, including literature, history, philosophy, economics, law, science, engineering, management, medicine, education and arts. Currently, The University comprises 50 teaching and research units, with a total enrollment of 35,481 students, including 19,317 undergraduates, 7,710 master students, 1,068 doctoral students, 189 international students, and 7,197 adult education students. The University has over 2,655 staff members, including 1,762 teaching and research faculty. The University has jointly established Confucius Institutes with Irkutsk State University in Russia and Cheikh Anta Diop University in Senegal. Since 1965, it has trained over 10,000 international students from 128 countries in language studies, degree programs, and other educational endeavors.

Ⅱ.Degree Program
1. Application Requirements
(1)Applicants must be at least 16 years old; those under 18 must provide a notarized guardianship certificate and other relevant documents. Applicants should hold a valid foreign passport, be non-Chinese citizens, demonstrate good moral character, be in good health, and maintain a friendly attitude toward China. Additionally, applicants must comply with Chinese laws, regulations, and the university's rules and policies.
(2)If one or both of the applicant's parents are Chinese citizens and have settled abroad, and the applicant acquired foreign nationality at birth, the applicant must hold a valid foreign passport or proof of nationality for at least four years, and have actually resided abroad for at least two years within the last four years (up until the submission of the application materials). Residence of nine months or more in a year counts as one year, based on entry and exit stamps. Applicants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan who have immigrated and obtained foreign nationality must also meet the above requirements.
Note: The applicant's nationality status, whether holding foreign nationality while also possessing Chinese nationality, shall be determined based on the conclusion of the nationality recognition issued by the Exit and Entry Administration of the Chinese Public Security Bureau. If, during the application, admission, or enrollment process, the applicant is recognized as having Chinese nationality, their application, admission, enrollment, or student status will be revoked.
(3)Applicants for undergraduate programs are required to take China Scholastic Competency Assessment. In addition, academic performance, academic level, and language proficiency must meet the admission requirements of the chosen program.
(4)Academic Requirements:
①Applicants for undergraduate programs must possess a diploma equivalent to a Chinese general high school diploma.
②Applicants for master's degree program must hold a diploma equivalent to a Chinese university bachelor degree or its equivalent. Additionally, applicants are required to submit two recommendation letters from associate professors or higher-level scholars, along with a study plan in China (at least 1,000 words in Chinese or 2,500 words in English).
③Applicants for doctoral program must hold a diploma equivalent to a Chinese university master degree or its equivalent. Additionally, applicants are required to submit two recommendation letters from associate professors or higher-level scholars, along with a study plan for China (at least 2,000 words in Chinese or 3,000 words in English).
(5)Language proficiency requirements:
Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must achieve a minimum score of 180 in HSK Level 4 or above. For English-taught programs, applicants must meet the international standard with an IELTS score of at least 5 or a TOEFL score of at least 60. Both certificates must be valid at the time of application.

Ⅲ.Non-degree Program
1. Application Requirements
(1)Applicants must be at least 16 years old. If under 18, the applicant must provide a notarized guardianship certificate and other relevant documents.
(2)Applicants are required to provide scanned copies of the highest degree certificate and academic transcript, along with Chinese or English translations of these documents.
2. Non-degree Program Categories
(1)Long-term Chinese language studies.
(2)Short-term Study Tours (including Chinese language courses, cultural courses, and various visits and activities; custom options available).
(3)Customized Chinese language training courses.
IV.Application Deadlines
1.Degree Programs
(1) Undergraduate: From now until July 31, 2026.
(2) Master and Doctoral Program: From now until June 30, 2026.
2.Non-Degree Program
Long-term Chinese Language Studies:
Spring Semester: From now until February 8, 2026.
Autumn Semester: April 1, 2026 - August 15, 2026.
V.Application Process
1. Register on the University's international student online application system (https://lnu.17gz.org/member/login.do), fill in personal information, and upload the following materials.
(1) Degree Programs
①Passport: A copy of the passport's first page (photo page). If applicable, provide the visa page and exit/entry stamp pages. The passport must be valid until at least September 2026.
②Highest Degree Certificate: Applicants should provide the highest degree certificate (current students should upload a pre-graduation certificate from their school), transcripts, and Chinese translations. The applicant must obtain the degree or high school diploma before September 2026.
③Applicants with degrees obtained outside China must submit proof of high school graduation and complete transcripts for undergraduate applications. For master applications, submit the bachelor degree certificate and complete undergraduate transcripts. For doctoral applications, submit the bachelor and master degree certificates and complete transcripts from both the undergraduate and master programs. Graduating students must provide a pre-graduation certificate and submit the official graduation certificate before the University's registration date. Documents not in Chinese or English must be accompanied by notarized Chinese or English translations.
④China Scholastic Competency Assessment(CSCA) Score Report: Applicants for undergraduate programs must take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment organized(CSCA) by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) in advance and provide the score report for the relevant subjects.
⑤Language Proficiency Proof: For Chinese-taught programs, applicants must submit an HSK Level 4 certificate with a score of 180 or above. For English-taught programs, applicants must submit an internationally recognized IELTS score of at least 5 or a TOEFL score of at least 60 (both certificates must be valid at the time of application).
⑥Personal resume.
⑦Study Plan: Applicants for master or doctoral programs must submit a study plan including self-introduction, educational background, and a plan for studying in China. It should be written in either Chinese (1,000 words minimum for master degree;2,000 words minimum for doctoral degree) or English (2,500 words minimum for master degree; 3,000 words minimum for doctoral degree).
⑧Recommendation Letters: Applicants for master's or doctoral programs must provide two recommendation letters from associate professors or higher-level scholars.
⑨Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid for 6 months, see Appendix 3).
⑩Certificate of No Criminal Record: The applicant must submit a valid certificate of no criminal record issued by the local public security authority.
⑪Guardianship Documents (if applicable): If the applicant is under 18, a notarized guardianship certificate and other relevant documents must be submitted.
(2) Non-Degree Programs
①Passport: A copy of the passport’s first page (photo page). If the applicant has any entry/exit records in China, they must also provide a copy of the visa page and exit stamps. The passport must be valid beyond the start date of enrollment.
②Highest Degree Certificate and Academic Transcripts from the applicant's previous studies, along with Chinese or English translations.
③No Criminal Record Certificate: Applicants must submit a valid no criminal record certificate issued by the local public security bureau.
④Foreigner Physical Examination Form (valid for 6 months, see Appendix 3).
⑤Guardianship Documents (if applicable): If the applicant is under 18, a notarized guardianship certificate and other related documents.
2. After submitting the application, the applicant must wait for the initial review.
3. If the initial review is passed, an application fee of 800 RMB must be paid.

4.Entrance Examination Schedule
(1)China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA): For undergraduate program applicants, they must take the CSCA organized by the China Scholarship Council. The test will be held in December 2025, and January, March, April, June 2026.
The test includes Professional Chinese (compulsory), Mathematics (compulsory), Physics (optional depending on the major), and Chemistry (optional depending on the major). Applicants for the Chinese Language major who provide a valid HSK Level 4 or above certificate may be exempt from the "Professional Chinese" test. Specific dates and arrangements will be notified via the official test website (www.csca.cn). Interviews will be held from May to August 2026, with specific dates notified via email.
(2)Master or Doctoral Enrollment Exams: From May to July 2026, specific dates will be notified via email.
(3)Chinese Language Program Placement Test: During the first week of the semester, with specific dates to be notified via email; for students joining mid-semester, the test will be conducted upon arrival.
5. Admission
Applicants who meet the requirements of the chosen program will be selected for admission based on the entrance exam scores, study plans, and academic transcripts. The University will notify applicants of the admission results via email within 10 days after the examination and comprehensive assessment.

Ⅶ.Important Notes
1. Please ensure that you provide an accurate email address on the application form to facilitate communication regarding the registration process.
2.If you are unable to register by the specified deadline, it will be considered as an automatic forfeiture of your admission eligibility. The application fee is non-refundable once paid.
3.Applicants are responsible for the authenticity of the information and documents they provide. If it is found that there was any late submission, false reporting, or concealment of information during the application, admission, or enrollment process, the applicant’s eligibility for application, admission, or enrollment will be revoked.
